Duke softball has reached college softball's pinnacle event: the Women's College World Series.
The 10-seeded Blue Devils (52-7 overall, 20-4 in ACC play) open up WCWS play on Thursday, May 30 at 2:30 p.m. ET as underdogs — perhaps how Duke likes it after being under-seeded in the NCAA Tournament — going up against 2-seed Oklahoma.
Behind Claire Davidson's big day at the plate, Duke pulled out perhaps its biggest win in program history last Saturday by taking down 7-seed Missouri 4-3 in nine innings to advance to the WCWS for the first time in program history.

However, the Blue Devils' first challenge in Oklahoma City won't be easy, as they will have to take down college softball's Goliath in the three-time reigning national champions Sooners. Oklahoma hasn't lost a game this postseason in the NCAA Tournament, sweeping both its Norman Regional and Norman Super Regional. The Sooners have outscored its opponents 33-10 through its five games.
It is the second time this season that both Duke and Oklahoma will face each other and the first time either program will square off in the postseason. The Sooners beat the Blue Devils 3-0 earlier this season down in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
