I help Area Managers in Ops take back control of your growth & development so you can stop being at your manager's mercy for support & guidance

I get asked a lot by Area Managers for career advice๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ'๐ ๐บ๐ ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ด๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐:PLEASE stop making up fancy names for your title.A LOT of people used to work at your big name company. They get asked ALL THE TIME about your titles. You're not fooling anyone calling yourself something other than an Area Manager. All of the previous Amazon, Walmart, Chewy, etc employees can easily call the bluff. And they do.I've been one of those people who gets reached out to by a hiring manager to confirm what the org chart looks like.Do yourself a favor and work on increasing your impact. Then write about it in your experience section. You're only hurting yourself otherwise. P.S - Before you get upset at me, ask yourself why you feel like I'm talking about you.

I saw a Product Specialist role listed here that I wanted to apply for. I saw that the hiring company was listed as a recruiting company. So, I went directly to their website to apply for the position (which was not easy to find, they need to do some work on their search screens.) Only to discover they were listing it on behalf of a different recruiting company. So, I went to THEIR website to apply directly. All of that took about 20 minutes, and that doesn't even include the time it took to fill out the application. I'm 80% sure I know who the actual hiring company is. It's a company I've been trying to get a job with since I started this (terrible horrible no good very bad) job-seeking journey. So, maybe THIS TIME, I'll get a recruiter who sees my value and can connect me to the right person over there. It ain't easy, y'all. Keep grinding.

Yesterday's failure doesn't define tomorrow's success. You may totally mess up today. Tomorrow is a chance to keep going and learn. "Karla's" had a skin care business. In 2022, Karla had a baby. She needed to make more money and got a job as a customer service rep. Karla still has her skincare business. But, she and I have had many long talks about letting go of embarrassment and shame because of her business wasn't making enough money to cover her living costs. After all, Daymond John always talks about how he kept his Red Lobster job long after FUBU was growing. Because growth, revenue, and sustainable income are not the same. When "Daniel" was fired from his job, he felt like no one would hire him. 3 months later, he got a new job that paid more and a better working environment. Today's failure is education for tomorrow's success. Never give up on you. It's in our book that's on Amazon. #beyourbestbrand #beyourcareerbully #beyourbestbrand #beyourbestcareerarchitect #resumes

It's True, what got you here, won't get you there. BUTThere is another truth that is just as important that few people talk about. What got you here, will get in the way of you getting there. The first rule is about learning new skills. The second is about getting rid of doing things that made you successful, but now get in the way.Let's take an example:A man owns a corner convenience store. He built it form scratch. He does everything. He stocks shelves, does the ordering, keeps the books, serves the customers, washes the floor, meets with the vendors, etc., etc., etc.In short, he has tons of flexibility. He becomes really successful and decides he wants to expand and opens 3 other branches of his store. What do you need to stop doing to get to your next level?#change #growth #lettinggoIf he tries to run the stores the same way he ran one, he will fail miserably. He needs systems, employees, company processes, schedules etc. He needs to get rid of his flexibility. It made his first store work. It will kill the chain. He definitely needs to learn new skills because, "what got you here, wont get you there."But he better be willing to let go of other skills, even the ones that made him successful because, "What got you here will get in the way of getting you there.

Last week, I had a pleasure to discuss our company's Job Rotation model with Vicente Fernรกndez - Amazon / Operations / MBA, Gianluca Manuli Calameonte, Altug Besiroglu, MD, OHP, and @Matt Newton. Job rotation is crucial, especially in fast-paced environments like Amazon. It helps employees develop a broader skill set, enhancing proficiency and fostering adaptability. Additionally, it boosts engagement by providing new challenges and prevents monotony. Job rotation facilitates succession planning and encourages knowledge sharing, leading to a more cohesive workforce. It's a strategic tool for talent development, organizational agility, and employee retention. Last but not least, it offers ergonomic benefits by reducing the risk of injuries, contributing to a safer and more comfortable work environment, enhancing satisfaction, and productivity and also allows proper employees' allocation based on their individual health conditions. But...how to manage proper job rotation taking into consideration business needs and individual conditions and skills set of for example more than 3000 employees in one building at the same time? This is exactly the question that we will try to answer! I'm more than excited for the upcoming months of our software development! Thank you, guys, for sharing your perspective and valuable feedback!
