BOYS LACROSSE

Moorhead 15, Sartell 3

MOORHEAD — The Moorhead Spuds cruised past the Sartell Sabres on Thursday night at Jim Gotta Stadium.

Joel Egerdahl paced the Spuds with six goals. He had a hat trick in both halves. Evan Wanner scored and Jace Blythe both had hat tricks. Quinn Tweten netted two goals.

The Spuds improved to 7-2 overall. Sartell is 4-4 overall.

SOFTBALL

GF Red River 4, Fargo Shanley 0

FARGO — Grand Forks Red River’s Jocelyn Berg was almost unhittable and also was her own best friend at the plate in a victory over Fargo Shanley in an EDC game on Thursday.

Berg fired a one-hitter, walking just one and striking out 15. Berg also had two solo home runs among her three hits. Ella Speidel was 2 for 4 and also hit a solo homer.

Alexa Gregg had Shanley’s only hit. Pitcher Taelyn Card went seven, allowing four runs on nine hits. She walked one and struck out six.

Red River is 16-0 in EDC points and 11-1 overall. Shanley is 4-10 in the EDC and 4-5 overall.

WF Sheyenne 10, GF Central 2

GRAND FORKS — West Fargo Sheyenne led from the start, taking a four-run lead into the sixth inning before piling on three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings against Grand Forks Central in an EDC game Thursday.

Sheyenne starter Presley Tvetter allowed two unearned runs on three hits in 6-1/3 innings. She didn’t issue a walk and struck out six.

Sheyenne’s Mya Migler was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Kate Geiszler homered and drove in two runs. Makenna Alexander was 3 for4 with two doubles and Madi Aadland was 2 for 4 with a double.

Sheyenne lifted to 9-3 in EDC points and 10-4 overall. Central is 2-14 in EDC points and 1-11 overall.

WF Horace 17, Valley City 3 (F/5 inn.)

VALLEY CITY — West Fargo Horace jumped out on Valley City early, scoring 12 runs in the first two innings of an EDC game on Thursday.

Horace’s Katrin Flanagan was 4 for 4 with a double and three runs batted in. McKenna Mohs was 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Austi Brandt was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs and Sydney Flanagan was 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs.

Tristyn Struck was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Leah Holten doubled and had two RBIs and Emry Roark tripled and drove in a run. Mohs went all five innings, allowing three runs on three hits, walking three and striking out eight, to get the win.

Horace improved to 6-8 in EDC points and 5-7 overall. Valley City is 4-8 in EDC points and 2-6 overall.

Fargo North 9, Fargo Davies 3

FARGO — Leah Hoffman drove in four runs and Fargo North defeated Fargo Davies in an EDC game on Thursday.

Hoffman was 3 for 4 with a double and a triple. Jada Purdy was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Kenleigh Fischer hit a solo home run. Pitcher Maryn Schneider got the win, allowing three unearned runs on nine hits. She walked one and struck out five.

Davies’ Ellie Steinlicht and Sophie Rerrick both had hits and RBIs and Elle Mann and Maizey Carr both had two hits.

Davies rose to 6-8 in the EDC and 3-9 overall. North is 8-6 in the EDC and 6-5 overall.

St. Michael-Albertville 16, Moorhead 13

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — St. Michael-Albertville rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Moorhead in a non-conference game Thursday.

The Spuds scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 13-12 lead ahead of STMA’s four-run seventh. STMA’s Kendra Behrens doubled in the tying run and Kylie Gaston hit a three-run home run to end the game.

The Spuds’ Taylor Kressin was 4 for 5 with a home run, two doubles and three runs batted in. Taylor Brueske was 4 for 5 with a home run and five RBIs. Madden Bogenreif was 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs. Rylie Spitzner and Addie Salvevold both had hits and RBIs and Payton Babolian was 2 for 3.

Moorhead is 7-6 overall. St. Michael-Albertville is 12-3 overall.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 3-10, Breckenridge 0-6

BRECKENRIDGE — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton hit the road south to Breckenridge and brought home a pair of wins on Thursday.

In the first game, DGF pitcher Autumn Leach went the distance, scattering seven hits, walking one and striking out eight.

The Rebels’ Ellie Boyd was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Karlie Wagner was 2 for 3 and Mady Myklebust had an RBI.

In game two, Breckenridge led 5-3 through 3-1/2 innings but the Rebels took the lead in a three-run fourth inning and pulled away with two runs apiece in the fifth and sixth.

DGF’s Makayla Bjelland was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Myklebust was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Boyd was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Karlie Wagner was 3 for 4 with an RBI, Katie Kittelson had two hits and an RBI and Lola Garrett had a hit and two RBIs.

DGF is 11-3 overall. Breckenridge is 4-8 overall.

BASEBALL

Fargo Davies 11-7, Jamestown 10-3

FARGO — The Fargo Davies Eagles rolled to a non-conference sweep over the Jamestown Blue Jays on Thursday.

In the first game, Davies scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge the Blue Jays.

Davies’ Wyatt Kosidowski singled to lead off the seventh, stole second and he scored the tying run on Jaxon Beiswenger’s double to left field. Ashton Rinas singled in Beiswenger to end the game.

Beiswenger, who was 3 for 5, also homered and finished with three runs batted in. Kosidowski had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Rinas was 2 for 2 with the game-winning RBI, and Brady Haiskenen and Blake Chase both were 1 for 3 with two RBIs

The Eagles’ Cayden Neuharth barreled a two-run home run into center field in the first game. Malachi Werremeyer doubled in the fourth inning to score two runners. Easton Ebeling picked up the win, granting one earned run on four hits and striking out eight.

Jamestown’s Tyson Jorrisen doubled and Jake Moser was 1 for 1.

Davies rose to 14-7 overall. Jamestown is 3-9 overall.

Fargo Shanley 9, Moorhead 2

FARGO — Adam Leininger homered, doubled and drove in three runs in Fargo Shanley’s cross-border win over Moorhead on Thursday.

Shanley’s Quinn Miller was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Sam Ovsak had a hit and two RBIs and Landon Meier had a hit and an RBI.

Shanley’s Gavin Kruk started and allowed an earned run on seven hits in 4-2/3 innings to get the win. Ovsak and Joey Jaeger combined for 2-1/3 innings of no-hit, scoreless relief.

Moorhead’s Tyden Bergeson and Cullen Wilson both had two hits and Ben Fredrickson doubled.

Shanley is 15-4 overall. Moorhead is 6-5 overall.

Moorhead 12, West Fargo 9

WEST FARGO — The Spuds fended off a late West Fargo rally to win a non-conference matchup on Thursday.

The Spuds held on to an early lead and outhit West Fargo 14-12. Drake Kunza drove in three runners in a two-hit game with a double. Carter Huotari had three RBI and doubled in a 2 for 3 game. Tyden Bergeson had three hits.

West Fargo’s Seth Wigestrand was 3 for 5 with two RBI. Landon Troftgruben knocked in a pair of runners and had two hits. Owen Haugen and Luke Finn both had two hits.

Moorhead rose to 6-5 overall. West Fargo is 11-6 overall.

Fargo North 11-3, WF Horace 1-5

FARGO — Fargo North and West Fargo Horace split their EDC doubleheader on Thursday night.

In the first game, North’s Brady Manly was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, and Levi Sveet homered and drove in three runs. Colby Hanson was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs and Sam Fritel was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Charlie Kalbrener was 2 for 3.

Hanson started and allowed a run on seven hits in four innings. Kalbrener relieved and allowed a hit and struck out three in two innings.

Horace’s Cason Borchardt was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Cooper Fuchs had two hits.

In the second game, the Hawks rallied to score two runs in the fifth inning. Both teams had five hits. Borchardt doubled and walked. Kaizen Nordick was 1 for 1 with a walk. Tyler Hjelmstad completed the five-inning game, allowing three earned runs and struck out two.

North’s Ethan Ibach pinged an RBI double to right field in the first inning. Hudson Stein was 1 for 1.

Horace is 4-5 in the EDC and 12-13 overall. North is 5-4 in the EDC and 12-7 overall.

Northern Cass 11-6, Fargo Oak Grove 0-3

HUNTER — Northern Cass won a pair of Region 1 games over Fargo Oak Grove on Thursday.

In the first game, Northern Cass’ Jacob Ose pitched a five-inning no-hitter. He walked one and struck out six. Ose also had two hits, including a double, and Collin Mitchell doubled and had two RBIs. Trey Husar also doubled and had an RBI.

In the second game, Northern Cass overcame a two-run deficit with two runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the second.

Mitchell, Parker Anderson and Luke Murch all had hits and RBIs.

Jack Bjornson had one of Oak Grove’s two hits and he drove in a run.

Oak Grove is 5-12 overall. Northern Cass is 16-8 overall.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 11-10, Breckenridge 0-0

GLYNDON — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton blanked Breckenridge twice in a doubleheader on Thursday.

In the first game, DGF starter Austin Anderson pitched a five-inning three-hitter with no walks and five strikeouts. Anderson also tripled and drove in a run.

Landon Johnson was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Wes Hoover and Camden Schreiber both had hits and two RBIs. Peyton Aas and Brody O’Keefe both had hits and RBIs.

In the second game, Dylan Anderson three-hit the Cowboys in seven innings. He walked two and struck out five.

DGF’s Austin Anderson was 2 for 5 with an RBI, Adam Moe doubled and drove in two runs and Aas had a hit and an RBI.

DGF is 7-5 overall. Breckenridge is 3-8 overall.

GIRLS SOCCER

Fargo North 2, GF Central 0

FARGO — Fargo North buried two goals in the first half to defeat the Grand Forks Central Knights on Thursday night.

Spartans midfielder Mya Solberg netted the first goal in the sixth minute on an assist from Solei Berg. Allison Larson booted in a goal from outside the box in the 29th minute off a pass from Kate McComb.

North moved to 3-2-4 in the EDC and overall. Central is 3-4-2 in the EDC and overall.

Fargo Davies 2, GF Red River 2

GRAND FORKS — Fargo Davies and Grand Forks Red River left Tuesday’s EDC matchup knotted for draw.

Eagles midfielder Leighton Roberson scored the first goal in the 21st minute on a pass from Sophie Bjerke. Red River notched the equalizer in the 33rd minute with a goal from Morgan Hartze.

In the second half, Davies’ Madison Barnick notched a long goal from outside the box on an assist from Chloe Soleim. The Roughriders tied the game in the 56th minute after Taylor Hodny converted on a penalty kick.

Davies is 9-0-1 in the EDC and overall. Red River is 5-2-3 in the EDC and overall.

Fargo Shanley 3, West Fargo 0

FARGO — Fargo Shanley forward Emma Rohrich recorded a natural hat trick in a win over the West Fargo Packers in an EDC clash on Thursday night.

The sophom*ore tallied her first goal in an interesting fashion in the 20th minute. Deacons forward Molly Flaherty headed a corner that bounded off the crossbar. Rohrich headed the rebound and found the back of the net.

Rohrich notched her second in the 52nd minute. She scored her third in the 60th minute on an assist from Flaherty.

Shanley improved to 7-1-2 in the EDC and 7-2-2 overall. West Fargo is 0-8-1 in the EDC and overall.

WF Sheyenne 2, Fargo South 0

WEST FARGO — West Fargo Sheyenne defeated Fargo South on Thursday evening.

Sheyenne rose to 3-5-1 in the EDC and overall. South is 0-8-2 in the EDC and overall.
