“A2!?” 2B gasps in surprise.
“You...” A2 just looks at the short haired android with a stoic expression.
A2 was considered a traitor to the YorHa, so it made the long haired beauty become a wanderer. But...how in the world did Commander White be able to communicate with A2 when she just left the whole squad?
“I can’t believe it...” 2B says.
“Yeah, I don’t freaking blame you,” A2 says as she holds her spear behind her and looks at her own Pod. “Commander White must be super smart to be able to reboot the communication system.”
“But why would she pair us?” 2B questions. “This makes no sense.”
“Well...shall we report back to the bunker, then?” A2 says. “Apparently, she doesn’t see me as a traitor now for some reason so....”
“Maybe...she didn’t have any choice,” 2B says. “There are other YorHa units to choose from...including Operator 6O but...”
A2 lets her spear vanish and walks ahead of the short haired android. “Come. If you don’t want to be left behind...”
“Hey!” 2B pouts and then starts walking after the long haired android.
**Later**
“Well done,” White says. “You have managed to find A2.”
“Tell me again why you would re-instate A2 like this?” 2B questions. “Didn’t you label her a traitor before?”
“I did,” White says. “But none of the other YorHa units volunteered to be 2B’s partner. I tried asking Operator 6O as well, but 2B said she is most needed here.”
“She must be a special one,” A2 crosses her arms and turns away.
“It’s actually nothing like that,” 2B says. “All I am saying is that Operator 6O is really needed at the bunker and can communicate to me however she wants.”
White giggles. “Sounds like you want to protect her~”
“Shut it...” 2B mutters.
“Now then,” White says, clapping her hands to get both of her soldiers’ attention. “Since you found A2, you two are now partners. Be sure to get along well.”
2B and A2 look at each other. Although there is nothing for them to bicker about, at least for now, 2B is still unsure about this. A2 seems very serious most of the time. So is 2B, but she still needs to be careful about A2’s attitude.
“You two will also be sharing the same bed,” White says.
“WHAT!?” A2 and 2B say in unison.
“I did say you two will be partners~” White says with a finger held up. “Which means you two will do everything together, every day.”
“No freaking way,” A2 turns around, crossing her arms. “I’m fine fighting by 2B’s side, but this is going a little overboard, don’t you think?”
“I’m with A2 on this one,” 2B agrees. “We barely know each other.”
“Exactly~” White says.
A2 and 2B look at each other again and then groan. This is not what 2B had in mind at all.
“Is that understood?” White says.
Meow~
Both 2B and A2 turn into chibi-fied cat girls upon hearing White’s command.
“Y-yes, Commander!” both say in unison.
“Alright then,” White says and then salutes. “Glory to Mankind~”
The small cat girl androids salute as well. “Glory to mankind!”
“Great~” White says. “Dismissed~”
Meow~
Cat girls A2 and 2B look at each other again and their cat ears droop down while they groan and meow at the same time.
**2B’s Room**
“Sharing the same bed, my ass...” 2B says. “The bed is pretty big to fit 2 people, but even so...”
Meow~
“Errr...why are you getting undressed...?” Kitten 2B questions her new partner.
Kitten A2 closes her eyes and sorts out her clothing. “I have to clean myself up...”
“O-okay...” Kitten 2B says.
Now that she thinks about it, she hasn’t been cleaning herself lately. Maybe she and A2 will start bonding in the shower as a start of their relationship.
That...might have been the case...if it weren’t for the two of them trying to fight over the soap and water. They turn in to chibi kittens again, trying to clean themselves in order to get out of the shower faster. But the silly cat fight is just delaying everything and eventually, they reluctantly take turns.
After showering, the two androids step out to dry themselves. 2B prepares the bed. 2B climbs in first and then A2 shortly after.
“Does this really fit 2 people?” A2 says. “I’m almost at the edge. I’m about to fall off.”
“Maybe if you don’t move around so much,” 2B says. “Look I’m already squished against the wall. I can’t go any further.”
“Don’t you have any spare beds then?” A2 says.
“No, this is what every room is designed to be!” 2B says. “Don’t you know that already!?”
“I must have forgotten...” A2 turns away. “Well then...goodnight.”
2B starts to close her eyes when the blanket is pulled right from her hands. A2 is hogging the blanket all to herself.
Meow~
Kitten 2B takes back the covers and tries to sleep. But a second later, A2 snatches the blanket again. And then it goes on and on for about 5 minutes. The two kitten androids get tired of fighting over one blanket, so Kitten 2B has no choice but to literally kick Kitten A2 out of the bed. However, the blanket is within Kitten A2’s reach, so she grabs the blanket and snatches it out of Kitten 2B’s hands and then curls up in a ball so that no one touches the blanket again. Kitten 2B sighs heavily and turns around.
“Fine...have it your way...”
Kitten 2B doesn’t get much sleep at all.
**Later**
“Reporting...for duty...” 2B and A2 approach Commander White, exhausted.
“Goodness, what happened to you two?” White says.
“Don’t ask...” 2B says.
“Anyways,” White says. “You two will have the most important mission of all. It’s a rescue mission.”
“Who do we need to save?” 2B asks.
“A girl named Alisa Bosconovitch,” White replies. “Many of the YorHa units tried to save her. None have returned.” She types in the girl’s name on the large computer and her picture appears. “Here she is. She’s an android just like you.”
The girl looks very beautiful. Long pink hair that goes down her back and emerald eyes. She is wearing a green dress with pink thigh high stockings and high heels. She is also wearing small black gloves on her hands and a small hat on the side of her head. There are also metal wings on her back.
“Alisa...” 2B mutters.
“Consider it done,” A2 says and immediately turns to leave.
“Wait!” 2B reaches a hand out but A2 is already out the door. “Can’t she just stay and listen....?”
White just chuckles. “I’m sure she knows what she’s doing.”
“I doubt it,” 2B says. “Does she really think this mission is going to be that easy?”
“Which was why I assigned you two,” White says. “She’s located on Sector Z, which is way far from where we are. It will be one long journey for the two of you. You will have to acquire all the best equipment that is available out there in order to complete this mission.”
Meow~
“I knew this wasn’t going to be easy...” Kitten 2B groans.
“Who said it was~?” Kitten White chuckles.
“Alright,” 2B says. “I’ll inform A2 about everything.” She turns to leave.
“2B,” White calls and 2B stops to turn around.
“Yes, Ma’am?” the short haired android says.
“Listen,” White approaches her soldier and takes her hands in her own. “Just in case you don’t make it...I want you to know: you are one of the best. I’m very glad to have you as my soldier...as well as a close friend.”
2B chuckles and gently squeezes White’s hands. “I’m sure I’ll make it no problem. I have a new partner, thanks to you.”
“Be careful,” White says.
“We will,” 2B says.
“Well then~” White steps back and then salutes. “Glory to Mankind~”
“Glory to Mankind~” 2B says.
**Later**
A2 hasn’t left the base yet and thank goodness she didn’t. 2B is able to catch up to her and tell her everything Commander White told her.
“Sector Z, huh?” A2 says. “No problem. We’ll just fly our way there.”
“I do not think our Pods would carry us for that long,” 2B says. “Listen, I’m probably sure there are some transportations that are still working. Humans have been working hard to fix them after all.”
“I don’t trust humans...” A2 says.
“I don’t blame you, but does it look like we have any choice?” 2B says.
A2 thinks about it for a moment and then sighs. “Fine then...” She walks ahead of the short haired android again. “Let’s go.”
“Hey! Wait for me!” 2B chases after the long haired beauty.
“Better catch up.”
“That’s not funny!”
“Was it supposed to be funny?”
“Damn it! You sure are stubborn!”
